Just tried watching ep 1 as it reminded me of When the camellias blooms (the sea side quiet town vibes)...I adore Shin Min Ah since her drama, Arang and the Magistrate, but couldn't quite get onboard with this show.
I've liked Shin Min-ah for a while too. Oh My Venus was fun although not a lot happens like this show. :D Arang with Lee Joon-gi was great as was Tomorrow with You with Lee Je-hoon.
If you like seaside stories, I recommend an oldie called Thank You with Gong Hyo-jin and Jang Hyuk. It might seem a little dated now but I loved it when I first saw it. There's an amazing 8 year old actress in it as well.
I loved Camellia as well. It's hard to believe that this show is rated better than that one.
Racket Boys is not set in the seaside but in rural Korea. It's a delightful watch.
Hope I’m not too late to the party. While watching this drama, I can never explained it, but something about it that makes me not care about the main lead characters. My favourite character was the PD and his love line with his writer haha. Stumbling upon this post, you manage to some up exactly what I feel about Dushik but never quite managed to get the words right. I just feel that the character lacks sincerity that makes it human. A bit disappointed since it was hyped by everyone. Thank you for your insightful summary as always :)
I've always struggled with the hype around HomeCha. Even now. Like you it's hard for me to believe that it's rated better than Camellia and Racket Boys. I'll get into trouble for saying this but it doesn't even try to do anything different.
